I wrote this poem a year ago. Since the message remains timely, I’m REPOSTING it for my readers to appreciate.
Spinning Treading water Going around and round. The world is struggling to stand its ground. Hate Poverty War and random gun violence. Why do many choose to ignore and stay silent? Wake up, rise, break free from your dream. Staying numb gives you no right to scream. Climb from the shadows and step out of your cave. Stop, bear witness, speak truth—be brave. Running from turmoil might feel like a win. It won’t stop the chaos from continuing to spin. If you tell me to, “F-Off and jump in a lake!” Remember, that’s a privilege that not all get to make. Doing something is better than standing still. So help make a difference by tapping into your will. Don’t just say you’ll do — do as you say. That’s how to move forward and find a way. One foot, then the other, with both love and hope. That’s the first step to balancing life on a tightrope. Action is better than nothing at all. The other option is watching the world continue to crumble and fall.
